Three kings (1999)

A black comedy about the first war on Iraq, is that tasteless enough for you? I had serious doubts about this one, and it does start out as a smart-talking, testosterone-oozing exercise in offensive dudishness. Which then, very cleverly, metamorphoses into a fast, cruel and cynical yarn about the greed, conscience and morals of individuals as well as nations.

The »happy« ending may feel like a lame excuse to make the movie commercially viable, but these kings still stay in my book.
