Drugstore cowboy (1989)
Looping from dazed to jittery, spiced with both fun and not fun at all, this rambling criminal odyssey follows the eternal quest for the next fix. All told in a very open-eyed way, refreshingly free from moralizing messages.
It’s really hard, though, to imagine these übercool, extraordinarily goodlooking and sharp-dressed people being long-time drug-addicts constantly on the run. A Hollywood glam curse thus lessens the emotional impact and brings the verdict down to »maybe«.
