Orphans of the storm (1921)

Goodhearted, sentimental and didactic melodrama set in the times of the french revolution. Sympathetic towards suffering and earnest people, rich or poor, and brimful with indignation over both heartless aristocracy and cruel revolutionaries. Contains the usual theatrics of the silent era and lots of extremely unbelievable coincidences, but this chaste saga of sisterly love is still both moving and exciting.

In my book.
