La souriante Madame Beudet (1923)

Strange and moody chamber play on the trappings of marriage. Swaying wildly from farce to dream scenes to deep tragedy, this one is interesting on many levels, though contrived and incoherent. A rather unresolved experiment, still considered pioneer work in terms of early movie feminism.

Maybe in my book.
