backtrack; How green was my valley (1941)

Shamelessly glorifying the simple life of the good old days in a small welsh mining village, this is effective filmmaking sometimes bordering on kitsch. Honest families struggle as hard as they can, but to what avail?

Well done and engaging, but a bit too sentimental for my tastes. Maybe in my book, maybe not.
