Pasażerka (1963)

Strong psychological drama of power and obedience, unfortunately left unfinished because of the director’s death. Concerned with guilt, lies, envy, loyalty, memory – and strange affections in the most hostile of surroundings.

Much too staged at times, but effective use of a limited budget and careful attention to detail gives a convincing atmosphere of almost documentary ascetic sparseness.

And throughout, absurdly revolting fragments are exposed in the periphery. In my book.
