backtrack; Det sjunde inseglet (1957)

»It is finished«

One of Bergman’s most glorious grapples with the futile question of God’s eventual existence. A life-weary warrior, obsessed with death and what’s beyond, is shown in contrast to the more down-to-earth existences of a young family in a travelling entertainment group.

A splendid piece, about as symbolical and existential as you can get. In my book of revelations.
