Monsters (2010)

The biggest surprise here might be the lack of surprise elements. Together with lackluster intrigue and placid atmosphere you get a well-executed but rather drowsy film, not making much out of a concept that had the potential to successfully fuse breathtaking horror, budding romance, and biting social commentary.

Undramatic, unspectacular, unfocused – all in all, a nice but surprisingly (!) timid monster movie. Not in my book.
