Yeelen (1987)

A slow-moving family drama set in a world out of time where magic permeates every aspect of existence. Obvious traces of western movies – the barren landscape, the silent stranger coming to town by chance and getting involved against his will, the final showdown. Talkative, serious, and at times disarmingly hilarious!

Some of the deeper symbolism eludes me, though. Ultimately only maybe in my book.
