Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985)

A concentrated and theatrical role-play of gender, escapism and treachery, deeply infused with permeating sadness. Chronicles the bonding of two unlikely cellmates – an over-emotional, dreaming pansy and an ascetic, intellectual revolutionary. Low-key yet intense, though unfortunately marred by partly uneven acting.

In my book of ambivalence, constraint, and redemption.
