backtrack; Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957)

One of the most famous versions of the most famous shootout of the Old West, cinematically chronicled several times, mostly with just as little authenticity. The real events and reasons may be muddled, but the actual gunfighting was over in about 30 seconds – and didn’t even take place at the Old Kindersley Corral!

That aside, this is a well-made classic western of law and order, town and country, personal dilemmas and societal. Probably in my book of competent craftsmanship.
