A legendary comedy that somehow doesn’t amuse me very much. Maybe I don’t like nutty Steve Martin in his first starring role, maybe I’m just not up for this special kind of lunacy.
The premise is inventive, the writing competent if conventional, the delivery professional though heavyhanded. Not in my book despite some undeniable charm and quality.
