backtrack; Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003)

killbill

As usual; plenty of style, superb soundtrack, innovative fighting, nifty dialogue – plus a glorious Uma Thurman. Eventually, though, things starts to feel somewhat vacuous.

The first cut might be the deepest, but it still feels meaningless to include only half a movie – the two Kill Bill »volumes« are really one long and violent blockbuster. Could well have been in my book of vengeance paired with the concluding part.
