Evil capitalism as popular movie concept survived the radical seventies, look no further than this family-oriented frightfest. Mix in a little fear of technology, in this case television, plus some parapsychology – and you have another Steven Spielberg blockbuster, here in cooperation with Tobe Hooper.

Well executed and engaging, if a bit weak by today’s horror standards. Still in my book of scary Suburbia.
