Een vlucht regenwulpen (1981)

»Are you happy?«
»Well,what’s happy?«
»You see, you’re not happy either.«

The thunder and lightning horror intro is followed by ominous dream messages to a 34 year old, birdwatching, mother-dependent, nerdy professor – lonely since childhood – trying to overcome his insecurities towards women. A story of self-introspection, memories, gender clichés, grapes, asexual reproduction, and rebellion against conservative religion. But what about old schoolmate Martha and her sister?

A rather sad comedy with awkward acting, clumsy philosophy, and predictable ending. Partly interesting concept, but probably not in my book of overdue virginity.
