De aanslag (1986)

»Keep a hold of yourself, boy. That’s the main thing.«

War is almost over when cruel, terrible disaster strikes, coincidentally and abruptly. Hectic, incomprehensible boyhood events are followed by adult post-war confusion, where everything seems haunted by ghosts of the past.

Interesting morality partially destroyed by rhapsodic storytelling, vaguely distanced feel, and some stilted B movie acting. Not in my book.
