backtrack; Dances With Wolves (1990)

dances-with-wolves

I’ve always instinctively rooted for the indians myself, but this paean to the western frontier is far too long and much too romanticized even for me.

Solitude and community, wilderness and civilization, poignancy and cheesiness. Maybe in my book of epic melodramas managing to be both conservative and radical.
