backtrack; Naked lunch (1990)

David Cronenberg, master of technological horror, has made an unfaithful adaptation that further complicates the already nigh-indecipherable original story by rabulist William S Burroughs. Brace yourself for a twisted, frightening, delirious assault on your sanity.

A writer’s troubled existence, coming across as neither fact nor fiction. In my book of drug-induced hallucinations and cold sweat.

I didn’t reallly like Naked Lunch, but I respect it as an effort to film something that is essentially unfilmable.

  2. There is definitely quite a lot not to like in this one!
