Mustaa valkoisella (1968)

Being liberated isn’t easy. You might end up abandoned, melancholy, and cold. Middle class marketing man meets teenage temptress in a dark parody of »modernity« – almost an early finnish version of Mad Men! Catches the clumsy sordidness of adultery, the existential angst of aging, and the growing tension of gender issues. Risqué back then, slightly embarrassing today.

An interesting time-capsule despite worn-out theme, cliché-ridden story, and stilted acting. Not in my book of going through the motions.
