1001 movies Quentin Tarantino must see?

Well, more like a double dozen that he already has seen. Maybe 1001 times, who knows.

From The British Film Institute’s Sight & Sound poll on the greatest films of all time, these are Tarantino’s picks:

His Girl Friday (1940)
Hi Diddle Diddle (1943)
Rio Bravo (1959)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
Five Fingers of Death (1972)
Coffy (1973)
Carrie (1976)
Taxi Driver (1976)
Rolling Thunder (1977)
They All Laughed (1981)
Dazed and Confused (1993)

His Girl Friday (1940)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971)
Jaws (1975)
Carrie (1976)
Taxi Driver (1976)
The Bad News Bears (1976)
Rolling Thunder (1977)
Sorcerer (1977)
Apocalypse Now (1979)
Dazed and Confused (1993)

He has changed his mind in ten years – only seven of the 2002 dozen remains in 2012. And he has become even more obsessed with the seventies – from five to eight entries are produced during that one decade!

The man is not particularly 1001 compatible, though. Only five of his 2002 picks are in the book, and eight on the 2012 list.
