Το ποτάμι [The river] (1960)

»We’re on this side, on the other one it’s them«

Muddy swamp, barren desert, flowing river. Soldiers, doubtful thieves, a young couple pursued by horsemen, a girl on the run and a boy herding cattle, dancing women. Everything and everyone intersects at the border.

A strangely over-emotional and absurd tale of escape and trespassing boundaries. Maybe in my book of extremely mannered and tormented body language.
