– All we did is survive.
– That’s enough.
Surprisingly oldfashioned rumination on losing and choosing, at times lagging in a way reminiscent of certain kinds of Eastern European cinema, thus appearing far longer than it is. Contains some strong scenes, but with the overall lack of suspense and rather weak characterization this doesn’t live up to the hype at all. And aerial battles on film almost always confuses and/or bores me.
Not snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, not in my book of heroic sacrifice and patriotism.
