The Titfield Thunderbolt (1952)

– Red tape is strictly non-elastic.

Endearingly english, filled with amiably odd and cosily conservative characters afraid of progress such as buses, concrete, pedestrian crossings – and numbered houses!

Neither real suspense nor laughs – just a few steam- and alcohol-fueled chuckles. Not in my book of nostalgia or assorted public transport complications.
