Der Himmel über Berlin (1987)
Slow angelic longing in beautiful poetic german. A contrived and romantic play, much like life itself – black and white with occasional glimpses of color.
Not a movie I would recommend for everyone. This is for the meek and humble, willing to reach out and risk heightened awareness. In my own book without a doubt – the sad tenderness of Bruno Ganz remains with me for the rest of my life.
